Man flown to hospital after two car collision

A MAN believed to be aged in his 60s has been flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition after a car crash in Montrose this morning.
Emergency services were called to the two-car collision at a roundabout on Leith Rd and Mt Dandenong Rd at 5.30am.
CFA crews fought to free the man who was mechanically trapped for almost an hour.
Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Bianca Villarosa said the crash victim suffered head and spinal injuries.
Police are still on scene and westbound traffic from Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd is being diverted.
