It is understood the victim, a 38-year-old male, had been involved in a verbal altercation with the man who allegedly threw the punch, a 41-year-old male, in McDonald's prior to the incident.

One of the men, a 57-year-old male, was also assaulted, and is seen falling to the ground in the video. He was not injured.

NSW Ambulance Paradmedics arrived on the scene, taking the 38-year-old male to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment for head injuries.

The 41-year-old man was arrested a short time later, near to where the incident took place, and was taken to Day Street Police Station in Surry Hills.

He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault.

He has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday March 23.
