Woman 75 suffers brain damage

POLICE are investigating a bizarre case that left an elderly woman with life-threatening injuries near Hervey Bay.

Paramedics were called to the home on Currawong Ct in Eli Waters just before 2pm on Saturday where they found a 75-year-old woman with severe head injuries.

A police spokeswoman said the woman remained in Hervey Bay Hospital and described her injuries as “life-threatening”.

Police have set up an Investigation Centre at the Hervey Bay Police Station to find out how the woman was so severely injured.

The spokeswoman said a 60-year-old man is assisting police with their investigation.
