| Man bashed unconscious at bus stop in Avondale Heights |

| A MAN was knocked unconscious during a daylight assault at a bus stop in Melbourne's northwest. Police believe two men walked up to the 48-year-old victim at the bus stop near Canning St and Rosamond Rd, Avondale Heights, and assaulted him about 4pm. The Avondale Heights man suffered swelling and bruising to his face and neck. Police believe a number of people were in the area at the time of the assault. Investigators particularly want to speak to a schoolgirl who was talking to the offenders before the attack. The attackers are described as Caucasian, in their 20s with short brown hair.
