Tow truck hits pedestrian at Rocklea

A pedestrian has been rushed unconscious to the Princess Alexandra Hospital after being struck by a tow truck at Rocklea on Brisbane's southside.

Police said the 35-year-old man was hit at the intersection of Fairfield and Sherwoods Roads just before 5.30am.

The impact shattered the truck's windscreen.

The victim suffered head, leg and arm injuries and was transported to hospital under lights and sirens.

His condition is considered critical.

The tow truck driver is assisting police with enquiries.
