Washington Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA, 8th District), who has an office on Mercer Island, was treated in Washington, D.C. for a subdural hematoma, the collection of blood on the surface of the brain. According to reports, Reichert was admitted to George Washington University Hospital Wednesday after not feeling well. In a news release from his office, it says doctors performed a procedure to address a "chronic subdural hematoma that was likely the result of a minor head injury. The procedure was successful, and he is expected to make a full and complete recovery". Because of his hospitalization Reichert will miss the House vote on the health care bill, but his staff has said he will submit, for the record, a reiteration of his vote against the bill.
