Man dies after falling down stairs

A man has died after falling down stairs at a building in Sydney’s CBD.

The 35-year-old man was leaving a business on Sussex Street and negotiating the stairs with a bicycle when he tumbled down and hit his head on the concrete floor, a police spokeswoman said.

The 35-year-old man was negotiating the stairs with a bicycle at a building on Sussex Street near Liverpool Street early this morning when he fell and hit his head.

Ambulance spokesman Richard de Groot said a passer-by called emergency services about 1.50am.

The man was found unconscious and in a serious condition with head injuries, he said.

He was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Randwick, where he later died.
