Man has head injuries following St Kilda Road assault

A man suffered serious head injuries in an altercation with another man on the footpath of St Kilda Road at St Kilda this morning.

Police are trying to determine what led up to the assault, and are seeking witnesses to the incident which occurred at the corner of St Kilda Road and Charles Street at 4.30am.

A 37-year-old man from St Kilda is in The Alfred hospital undergoing treatment for his head injuries, while a 28-year-old St Kilda man is being questioned by police.
